Fibershed Blanket
The NJ Fibershed Blanket Project is a cooperative project between small farms raising fiber animals for their fleeces. This is one of the major initiatives to meet our mission to bring NJ fiber farmers together, and to highlight locally produced fiber products.Â
100% of the wool used in the NJ Fibershed Blanket is from member farms located within our Fibershed region.  The blanket program provides a way for small-scale fiber producers to sell their fiber, by having their wool processed and made into items that can be marketed to customers seeking local products and who want to support small small-scale, sustainable farms. Â
Participating farms provide raw fiber sourced entirely from their own flock. Fleeces are pooled, shipped to the processing mill, washed and spun into yarn, then woven into blankets. The fiber used in producing the blankets must meet criteria for quality to ensure the final product is of the highest quality, beautiful, warm, and enjoyable to own. Â
